Roger Wayne Morgan, 65, of Mexico, passed away at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 at Waters Funeral Home. Pastor Glenn Forman will officiate. Burial will be in the Bowling Green City Cemetery in Bowling Green, following the service.

Visitation celebrating Roger's life will be held at 10:00 am until the time of service Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Waters Funeral Home.

Roger was born on Dec. 9, 1956, in Vandalia, the son of Bertie and Dorothy (Cope) Morgan.

Survivors include two daughters, Brianna Morgan and Mackenzie Morgan both of Springfield; two sisters, Millie G. Atkinson (Wayne) of Vandalia, and Connie R. Marshall (Steve) of Hannibal; best friend, Tammy Morgan of Mexico; and many loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronnie Lee Morgan, and Clifford Eugene Morgan; and Sister, Judy M. Fry.

Roger was in the Van-Far High School Class of 1975. Roger always enjoyed farming with his family. In his early years he worked on the Clarence Cannon Dam. He worked for Chester Bross Construction for many years before beginning his career as a restaurant owner. He opened Porky's Smokehouse in Mexico and it was his biggest accomplishment feeding everyone in the town with amazing food. He had a passion for remodeling and loved to fix up anything he could.

Roger loved to be the life of the party. He spent all of his time outside fishing, shooting archery and guns, cycling, taking long walks, working on cars or going to car shows. Roger loved to barbecue and cook for people and overall just loved to give and help out those around him.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Morgan, LaDon Atkinson, Gary Motley, Chris Motley, Randy Rogers, Gary Giltner.

Honorary pallbearers are Rick Atkinson, Richie Hull, Doug Lybarger, Shane Bontz, Brad Morgan

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association 104 Corporate Lake Drive, Columbia, MO 65203, in care of Waters Funeral Home.
