Michael Leonard Ahrens, 58, of Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in Martinsburg. 

Funeral Services will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg with Deacon Ron Deimeke officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park in Mexico. 

Visitation is Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church. 

Michael was born on May 31, 1966, in Mexico, the son of Liborius Leonard Ahrens and Ella Isabelle (Dailing) Ahrens. On January 30, 1988, in Martinsburg, he married Melisa “Missy” Jean Hudson. 

Mike was a 1985 graduate of Community R-6 High School. He then became a certified welder through the Davis Hart Career Center. After starting his career with Penske Welding, he worked for A.B. Chance, A.P. Green and MoDot before becoming a farmer. 

Mr. Ahrens was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a former past-president of Central Missouri Old Tractor Pullers Association (CMOTA) and the Tractor Club. During his school years, he was a member of 4-H and FFA. Mike also had a great love for his pets. 

Survivors include his wife, Melisa “Missy” Ahrens of the home; two daughters, Kaylee (Colin) Paffrath of Moberly and Kerrie (Josh) Riley of Kansas City; two grandchildren, Maxwell and Harper Paffrath; his father, Borie Ahrens of Mexico; his mother, Isabelle Autrey of Lee’s Summit; two brothers, Martin Ahrens of Mexico and Ashley Ahrens of Holden; two sisters, Angela (Robert) Meissen of Raymore and Nancy Leslie of Greenwood; father-in-law, Tommy Hudson of Mexico; sister-in-law, Mindy Hudson of Mexico; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Mike was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Cheryl Hudson; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Hudson and Doug Leslie. 

Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or CMOTA. Both may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson Street, Mexico, MO 65265.
