The Van-Far R1 School District Board of Education has announced that Amy Newland has been selected as the next high school principal for the Van-Far R1 School District.
Newland is currently the dean of students with the Van-Far R1 School District where she has been employed since 2023. In addition to the Van-Far R1 School District, she has worked as an instructional coach and elementary teacher, summer school principal in Mexico and Montgomery County schools.
“Mrs. Newland is an excellent choice for our next high school principal,” John Fortney, superintendent of schools stated. “She has worked tirelessly to build relationships with students, staff and our community. Her energy and previous experiences will help propel the building and district forward.”
Newland is looking forward to her new role.
“I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to continue the amazing things happening in the Van-Far R 1 School District,” she said. “I feel passionately that our students and staff are blessed with some amazing opportunities that bring achievement and skills needed to be successful. I look forward to partnering with the community to make it the best learning environment for all.”
The search for a new dean of students will commence shortly. The Van-Far R1 School District serves 570 students and is located in northeast Missouri.
