The Mexico girls became familiar with different partners on Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs participated in the Troy Varsity Doubles Tournament on Saturday. Yolitza Rodriguez Rios and Marali Herrera-Amaya earned fourth place for Mexico after a 6-1 first-round win over Ft. Zumwalt North but had 8-6 losses in the third and fourth rounds against Troy and Holt.
“We had some different doubles partners so it was good to see them play with a different partner,” head coach Kim Costley said. “Yolitza and Marali had a great day. They got better every match and started to really understand some strategic movement patterns. It is great to see their growth.”
Lucy Gleeson and Claire Hudson were fifth after winning their third-round match 8-5 against Ft. Zumwalt South. Baylea Porter and Reiley Walker finished sixth.
