The Community R-6 boys stayed alive in districts on Tuesday.
The Trojans earned the chance to face Class 1 No. 5 Higbee (24-1) at 6 p.m. tonight in Madison after defeating Columbia Independent (9-13) 55-41. The Trojans trailed 27-25 at halftime.
"In the first half, we struggled to get shots to fall and also struggled with turnovers," head coach Kody Asquith said. "In the second half, our shots started to fall a little more and we limited our turnovers to seal the lead and finish the game off."
Community (5-20) trailed 21-14 after the first quarter but eventually led 45-32 at the end of the third quarter.
Mason Carroll led the Trojans with 27 points, Caden Thomas followed with 12 points and Brant Cope had 11 points.
