Robert C. Doebelin

Robert C. Doebelin, 71, of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Stanford officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. 

Visitation is Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

 

Robert was born on July 21, 1950 in Mexico, the son of William F. and Sarah Lula (Peery) Doebelin, Jr. On Sept. 5, 1970, at the Laddonia Christian Church, he married Marguerite DeTienne. 

Mr. Doebelin graduated from Community R-6 High School in 1968 and then served in Vietnam with the U.S. Air Force, from 69-70. Following the service, he was a farmer until retirement. 

Bob loved playing music, especially with the Lost Laddonia Boys and Canyon Road. He also enjoyed hitting a round of golf and playing cards. 

Mr. Doebelin was a member of the Laddonia American Legion Post 510 and the Mexico VFW Post 3772. He also served on the Missouri Veterans Home Assistance League board. 

Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Doebelin of the home; one daughter, Stephanie (Ryan) Schmidt of Mexico; one son, Jason (Kelly) Doebelin of Mexico; four grandchildren, Harrison Kleinsorge, Jesse Fennewald, Kaiden Doebelin and Kory Doebelin, all of Mexico; one sister, Savilla (Ralph) Throckmorton of Mexico; one brother, Curtis (Sharon) Doebelin of Mexico; his mother-in-law, Ileen DeTienne of Mexico; one brother-in-law, Jeffrey Detienne of Bend, Ore.; two sisters-in-law, Ann (James) Teague of Laddonia and Virginia DeTienne of Kansas City; and several nieces and nephews. 

Mr. Doebelin was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, James Eugene DeTienne.
