Raymond Edward House, 81, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital. 

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, at Arnold Funeral Home. 

Raymond was born on Dec. 3, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Averill Dale and Carolyn (Sandlan) House. Raymond was raised by his foster parents, Claudie and Lucille Smith. On Dec. 30, 1967, in Mexico, he married Rebecca Null.

Mr. House served in the Airforce from 1960 – 1964. He worked in a missile silo as an electrical power production repairman. Raymond retired from A.P. Green Brick Refractories in 1999. 

He enjoyed working in the shop, fishing, hunting, mowing, sharing stories of the time he served in the Airforce, traveling to the grandchildren’s sporting events and dance recitals and watching horse races. Raymond loved spending time with his family. 

Raymond is survived by his wife, Rebecca House, of the home; two daughters, Rhonda (Ian) Curtis, of Laddonia and Ruthie House, of St. Louis; son, Ryan Erik House, of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Shelby Faye (Josh) Sims, of Laddonia, Raymond Gatlin Curtis, of Laddonia, and Audrey Baird, of St. Louis; great-granddaughter, Lainey Rae Sims, of Laddonia; two sisters, Cheryl (Fred) Yoos, of Arkansas, and Linda Bowman, of Minnesota; brother-in-law, Eldon Roberts, of Sherman, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Averill and Carolyn House; foster parents, Claudie and Lucille Smith; and sister, Maureen Roberts. 

The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
