Peggy Sue Hinds, 65, of Mexico went to her heavenly home on July 12, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at Boone Hospital in Columbia. Peggy was born December 9, 1958, to Alvia and Betty Hinds in Hannibal. Her family moved to Houston, Texas and later to Centralia. She settled into her adult life just down the road in Mexico where she married Jake Feger and had two sons, Jason and Justin Feger. Peggy held a variety of jobs throughout her life and was always a “hard worker.” Although she was somewhat timid and tiny, she was mighty and a very kind and caring Christian soul.
Peggy nurtured her love of history by refurbishing wood furniture and collecting unique items of paper and glassware. It was captivating when she shared her knowledge of how and why something was made. Her yard and flowers gave her joy, and she had a regular jungle in her house as well. She loved being outdoors. Mushroom hunting was a favorite pastime, and she was adept at knowing when to search and where. These secrets have been passed to her children. During her later years she enjoyed watching old Westerns and listening to “good music.” She also loved to go thrifting and going to garage sales.
She will be missed by her sons, Jason and Justin Feger and her daughter-in-law, Sheila all of Mexico. Peggy leaves behind her beloved granddaughters, Jade, Jordyn, Jessa and Journee Feger, with memories of dress up, play and kisses. She also will be missed by her siblings, Donna Jones and Kenny (Lori) Hinds.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald Hinds.
A memorial service honoring Peggy’s life will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church, 1249 E. Hwy. 22, Centralia with Pastor Rodney Davis officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be shared at www.bachyager.com.
