Paris sending two golfers to state tournament

Posted

Paris golf will have representation at state for the first since 2021.

In Friday's Class 1 District 2 tournament at Heritage Hills Golf Course in Moberly, freshman Logan Mitchell finished in the top 13 to be all-district, and senior Evin Reichmann made the cutoff to also qualify for state. They will be Paris' first state golfers since 2021 when Chris Ebbesmeyer finished ninth to earn all-state honors. Nicole Skinner competed in the 2020 girls state championships.

Mitchell shot an 89, or 19-over par, to finish 13th, and Reichmann's 91 in a four-way tie for 18th was the cutoff score.

As a team, Paris finished fifth out of 16 schools with a score of 389, tying Schuyler County. Cole Dowell had a 99, Reid Ragsdale shot a 110 and Brad Skinner had a 111.

Trevor Biggerstaff, of fourth-place Canton, is the individual district champion after shooting a 76. Salisbury won the team championship by 35 strokes with a 326.

Mitchell and Reichmann compete at the Class 1 state tournament May 13-14 at Twin Hills Golf & Country Club in Joplin.
