North Callaway beats Hallsville in five again, 15-1

North Callaway poured it on Hallsville once before this season and did so again on Saturday.

To wrap up pool play in the Southern Boone Invitational in Mexico, the Thunderbirds defeated Hallsville 15-1 in five innings to follow their 14-4 five-inning victory earlier in the season. The second time around, North Callaway (14-8) finished with 15 hits.

Sam Pezold went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles (including a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning), Coltyn O'Neal finished 3-for-3 with three RBI and Keaton Bell was 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles and a RBI at the plate.

Tucker Sheets pitched three innings with one unearned run on two hits and one walk and had two strikeouts. Hallsville (6-19) pitching registered three balks to score three runs for North Callaway.

North Callaway faces Mexico (13-14) for fifth place on the Bulldogs' home field at 4:30 p.m. today. The Thunderbirds lost 7-3 at Mexico earlier this season.
