Mexico and Eldon had rough starts on the mound with nine combined runs in the first inning on Saturday.
On its home field, Mexico (13-14) defeated Eldon 16-9 to conclude pool play in the Southern Boone Invitational tournament, recording 12 hits and 10 walks. The victory snaps an eight-game losing streak for Mexico.
Brady Fox led the Bulldogs by going 4-for-6 with two RBI, Chance McCarty finished 3-for-5 with two RBI, Austin Maxwell went 2-for-3 with two RBI, and Ashton Belcher and Zach Jahn each had two RBI.
Mexico defeated Eldon (16-10) 6-5 during an eight-inning game earlier in the season. The Bulldogs face North Callaway (14-8) for fifth place in the tournament at 4:30 p.m. today in Mexico in a rematch from a 7-3 Mexico victory this season.
