Mexico School District 59 has announced the hiring of Robin Friedrich to be the assistant principal at Eugene Field Elementary for the 2023-24 school year. Officially, her duties will begin in July. Friedrich is currently the elementary instructional coach for Mexico Public Schools. Prior to becoming the instructional coach, she taught fifth grade at Hawthorne for three years and second grade at Hawthorne for four years.
Friedrich has a bachelors of science in education with a focus on elementary education from William Woods University (WWU). She has a masters in educational leadership from WWU and is starting her specialist degree program in Jue through WWU. Currently, she is a member of CTA and MSTA.
Friedrich’s educational journey has been a traditional one. She has always wanted to be an educator and genuinely make a difference in students’ lives. Prior to coming to Mexico Public Schools, she worked in private preschools for 12 years. She and husband Brian moved to Mexico when their 10-year-old son, Clayton, started kindergarten. As a family, they love to travel, watch Clayton participate in Special Olympics, and swim during the summer.
“I am absolutely thrilled to have this opportunity to be a part of the EF family,” she said, “and to continue supporting teachers, and getting to know all of the families. Most importantly, I can’t wait to help students be learners today and leaders tomorrow.”
“We believe Robin is going to be a great fit for Eugene Field,” newly hired Eugene Field principal, Scott Daly, said, “because she has a head start on knowing the needs of our staff and a strong background in the curriculum and instructional programs we use everyday in the classroom. Robin's strengths will help me transition more smoothly to a new building and allow us to quickly begin supporting teachers and helping students improve.”
