GOLF ROUNDUP: Althiser medalist for North Callaway at Russellville Invitational

Davis Althiser had the top score for North Callaway golf again on Wednesday.

Althiser’s score of 83 was enough to earn him a medal as he finished eighth at the Russellville Invitational at Redfield Golf Course in Eugene.

North Callaway finished with a team score of 385 as Connor Green shot a 90, Jacob Flynn finished with a 102, Tyler Huddleston had a 106, and Johnny Brown shot a 130.

Van-Far’s Smith wins Paris meet

Van-Far golf didn’t have enough Monday for the top team honors but came away with the individual top prize.

Cody Smith won a Paris meet against the Coyotes and Canton by shooting a 42 to beat out Paris’ Evin Reichmann and his 44. Van-Far finished with a team score of 211 to trail behind Paris’ 203.

Pacey Reading had Van-Far’s next best score at 52, Katelyn McCurdy shot a 58, Kasen Christain had a 59 and Clara Wallace finished with a 70.

Bennett wins medal, Centralia wins match at Norwoods

Centralia golf was at the top of the standings on Tuesday.

The Panthers won their meet with Palmyra and Monroe City at Norwoods Golf Course in Hannibal and had Cullen Bennett earn a medal with the top individual score.

Centralia finished with a score of 359 to edge Clarence Cannon Conference foe Palmyra’s 361 while Bennett won the 18-hole event with a score of 82. Palmyra’s Jonas Janes was second with an 83.

Two Panthers finished in the top four individually along with Bennett as Travis Brooks had an 86 and Carter Moss shot an 88. Josh Bowne finished with a 103, and Tyler Hawkins had a 110.

Paris competes in a pair of home meets

Paris golf split the week at home.

The Coyotes hosted a couple of meets on Monday and Tuesday, winning the Monday meet.

On Monday, Paris shot a 203 to defeat Van-Far and Canton and was led by individual runner-up Evin Reichmann as he shot a 44. Donald Jones had Paris’ next best score at 50, Brad Skinner shot a 53, Mason Edwards had a 56 and Garrett Henry finished with a 58.

On Tuesday, Paris had a team score 222 to trail behind winner Salisbury’s 167 and South Shelby’s 170. Salisbury’s Nolan Gordon was the medalist with a 36.

Paris’ top golfer was Jones with a 49, then it was Reichmann with a 51, Henry and Reid Ragsdale with a 61 and Brad Skinner with a 63.
