Filing for the April 2025 municipal election closed Tuesday, Dec. 31. Eligible candidates will be certified by the end of January and their names will appear on the ballot in order of filing. The next general municipal election in Audrain County will be held April 8, 2025
Mexico School District
The Mexico School District has two three-year terms available. School Board Vice President Nicole Jahn and Director Scott Nichols have terms expiring April 2025.
The candidates who have filed are: Joshua Price, Erik Richardson, Jon Calhoun, Scott Nichols, and Julia Lindsay.
The newly-elected members will serve alongside Jessica Ekern, Michelle Stephens, Chris Williams, Lennette Brown, and Mathew Pilger.
Community R-VI
Terms for the Board of Education Vice President Daniel Schafer and board member Rhonda Curtis will expire in 2025, leaving two seats up for election.
Candidate information from the Community R-VI School District was not received prior to press deadline.
Mexico City Council
City Council member Chris Williams’ term will expire April 2025 meaning there is one seat available in the upcoming election.
Two candidates have filed: Chris Williams and Ron Ray.
Audrain County Health Department
Chairperson Jessica Ekern and Treasurer/Secretary Darla Eggers have terms expiring so there were two seats available.
At the time filing closed, Ekern and Eggers were the only candidates so there will be no election for the Audrain County Health Department in April.
Martinsburg Area Fire Protection District
Two six-year terms on the Martinsburg Area Fire Protection District Board will be up for election in April.
