C2C Announces Leadership Change

The following press release was sent from Partners for Rural Impact.

As of Jan. 22, 2025, Kerri Ferrari is no longer with C2C, a partnership between Tyronn Lue’s Commitment to Community and PRI’s Cradle to Career work. Coach Lue’s Commitment to Community and his commitment to the children, families, and residents of Mexico remains steadfast.

In February we will be conducting a search for an Executive Director to lead the work of Commitment to Community.

We will share the position description once posted and ask you to share it with the community.

We are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together in Year 1 of Tyronn Lue’s C2C partnership.

We are thankful to all our community partners for their support, collaboration and most importantly to their commitment to the children and youth of Mexico.

As we move forward we are reminded of our collaborative accomplishments over the past year.

Student Attendance & Engagement

  • Site Coordinators were placed in each school to strengthen family and community engagement.

Expanded Access to Learning & Support

  • YMCA afterschool program access expanded with an additional bus stop.
  • High-quality programs and interventions (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, career advising) were formally offered to all 2,462 students in the Mexico School District.
  • After-school clubs at Mexico Middle School grew by 500%, providing new learning opportunities.

Family & Community Engagement

  • Hosted Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and holiday gift card giveaway events in the housing development community, with hundreds of attendees.
  • Over 200 families participated in ongoing community conversations.
  • A Pre-K and Kindergarten Literacy Night gave away 375 books and became the most well-attended event in the school’s history.

Economic & Workforce Partnerships

  • Partnered with the Chamber of Commerce to organize the Tyronn Lue Day of Service, engaging 70+ businesses and over 2,000 students in volunteer efforts.
  • Funded dual credit tuition for 132 students at Mexico High School.
  • Launched discussions with a local factory to create on-site daycare services to support working families.

Attendance & Community Initiatives

  • Hosted a community-wide training on improving attendance, with 80+ residents participating. This has grown into a city-wide attendance campaign with incentives, barrier mitigation, and engagement strategies.
  • Supplied school materials to families at all five Mexico schools.

Strategic Planning & Leadership

  • Formed a Leadership Table and selected two core metrics using the StriveTogether model to guide our impact.

These accomplishments demonstrate what is possible when we come together as a community to support our residents. We look forward to working with you to build on this momentum in Year 2 and beyond.

C2C will continue advancing this important work. Our commitment to supporting students, families, and residents remains unwavering, and we look forward to building on the progress we’ve made together.

We thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to ensuring all residents thrive and succeed. Commitment to Community continues as a vibrant partnership between the community of Mexico, the Tyronn Lue Fund and Partners for Rural Impact.
