Audrain Humane Society hosts 12th trivia night

What a night it was, as 28 teams and over 200 people participated in Audrain Humane Society’s 12th annual Trivia Night, recently held at the Audrain County 4-H Center. The always funny and entertaining Jim Williams was the emcee for the evening.

Our Drinking Team has a Trivia Problem, won first place in the Trivia competition with 73 points out of 100. They graciously donated their $150 prize back to AHS.

The Doom Patrol Team won the most decorative table and received an AHS t-shirt for each team member.

Audrain Humane Society board president, Marilyn Niekamp, says it was the best night for money raised since the trivia night started 12 years ago and is due to the generosity and support of our community.

The support of our amazing community helped raise over $10,000 during the 12th annual Audrain Humane Society Trivia Night.

Community businesses and individuals donated items to be used for the silent auction and raffles and numerous businesses participated as an ad sponsor.

Audrain Humane Society uses the money to help pay for the animals at the Mexico Animal Shelter to be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Annual spay/neuter costs are over $30,000 a year.

Money will also be used for Audrain Humane Society’s Pet Pal’s foster/adoption program which started in October 2023. The program has been a great success and 41 animals have been helped since October.

Anyone wanting to make a donation can do so by mailing donations to AHS, PO Box 603, Mexico, MO 65265 or may donate on-line at www.audrainhumanesociety.org.

Trivia night was held on Saturday, March 2.
